2 Timothy 4:3-5 For the time will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having
itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto
fables. But watch thou in all things, endure affliction, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong
delusion that they should believe a
lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Ephesians 5:9-10 For the Fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Please don’t turn away from this truth!
The first thing we need to understand is that when Christ came he came for the whole of humanity and when he spoke he spoke to all Christians (followers of him). The Christians are grafted into the house of Israel by the new covenant: we are the seed of Abraham. This does not mean that Israel has been replaced it is more like his family has been made larger.
Rom. 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For also am I an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should
taste death for every man.
Hebrews 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, behold I and the children which God hath given me.
Christians are called the children of God. When Christ came he died so that we could be joint heirs with him for eternity. It is the same as if you and your siblings were to inherit your parents assets: we as brothers and sisters to Christ along with him will inherit the kingdom of God: Our Father. You will see the promise of Christ coming and how we as the elect, the chosen, also named God’s servants will inherit with him.
Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
It is claimed that the word elect in all references of the Bible is talking to the Jews (Israel) except for a few times it is said that the elect is Christ, the angels, and the elect lady John writes too in 2 John 1:13 and that at no time does it refer to the Christians: that is simply not true. It is a fact that Christ is called the elect and the angels are called the elect but it is also a fact that the Christians are called the elect: even in Matthew 24. I will prove this to you but you have to be willing to receive it.
Surprisingly the word elect is only used four times in three chapters of the Old Testament. These are three chapters in Isaiah: 42, 45, and 65. I would think that it must be used a lot in connection with Israel/ the twelve tribes since most everyone is convinced that it applies to the Jews: but it isn’t. The four times the word is used is in relation to the first coming of Christ as the mediator of the new covenant.
God tells us about his plans to create this new covenant and the reason for it in those three chapters of Isaiah. It is critical that we all understand this important piece of knowledge. Christ shed his blood so that the New Testament could come into effect. To cause all who are called (Jew or Gentile) to receive the promise of eternal inheritance under the new covenant. In the new covenant (Christ) there is no respect of persons: there are no difference in Jews and Gentiles.
Christ represents the
new covenant that is why the second half of the Bible is called the New Testament. The old covenant was done away with: that does not mean the Old Testament books are obsolete: just the covenant. The Jews that are called Israel didn’t do what was right according to the law of God and so there was made a new covenant. This new covenant includes both Jews and Gentiles. The majority of Jews today have not been saved by believing in Christ and still don’t believe he was who he said he was: they are waiting on his second coming as if it is his first. Please feel free to check out my claims.
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a
new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the
mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
